10.3 ChartNexus Installation

  1. How do I know or check if Java is already installed on my computer ?
In Windows, click on the START button and then click RUN and type in "cmd" or "command" to bring up the COMMAND/DOS PROMPT. Then in the window/prompt, type in "java -version". You should be able to see the version from there.

There are many sites and small utilities which have been written to test this. We recommend you to use this page: http://javatester.org/version.html.

  2. How do I upgrade to a newer version of ChartNexus ?
ChartNexus will automatically prompt you install if there’s any newer version available. Click to upgrade... it’s that simple ! (Please note that in some workaround releases, the upgrade is not promptly or prompted. Any release which are workarounds, will be indicated clearly in their links.)

    See Section 2.6 for screenshots.

  3. What are the operating systems that ChartNexus support?
Since ChartNexus V3, you can run ChartNexus under any operating systems that have Java version 5 or greater. However, we found that in Mac OS X Tiger and some Leopard systems, there is a Java classloader issue to run ChartNexus. Applying patches to Java may fix the problem. ChartNexus team will continue to improve this software to higher compatibility in existing and other OS.
